Bring Your Parents & Grandparents Closer—Long-Term Visits Made Easy

Want to reunite with your parents or grandparents in Canada for an extended stay?

The Canada Super Visa offers an excellent solution—allowing eligible parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents to stay in Canada for up to 5 years at a time, with multiple entries over a 10-year period.

At Kirpa Associates, we help families come together by guiding you through the Super Visa application process with expertise, accuracy, and care.

What is the Super Visa?

The Super Visa is a special long-term visitor visa issued to parents and grandparents of Canadian citizens or permanent residents. Unlike a regular visitor visa (valid for 6 months), the Super Visa allows extended visits of up to 5 years without needing to renew your status.

It’s a multiple-entry visa valid for up to 10 years, perfect for families who want to spend meaningful time together without frequent reapplications.

The steps involved while applying for Super Visa

Confirm Eligibility

Ensure you are the parent or grandparent of a Canadian citizen or permanent resident. You must also meet basic requirements such as admissibility to Canada and financial criteria.

Obtain an Invitation Letter

Your child or grandchild in Canada must provide a written invitation confirming their willingness to support you during your stay. The letter must include proof of relationship and household details.

Get Proof of Financial Support

Your sponsor in Canada must prove they meet the Minimum Necessary Income (MNI) to support you, using documents such as Notice of Assessment, pay stubs, or an employment letter.

Purchase Medical Insurance

Buy Canadian medical insurance coverage valid for at least 1 year with a minimum coverage of $100,000. This ensures you're covered during your stay in Canada.

Complete the Application Online

Fill out the Super Visa application via the IRCC portal. Attach all required documents including the invitation letter, proof of relationship, insurance, financials, and valid passport.

Take a Medical Exam (If Required)

Depending on your age and country of residence, a medical examination by an approved panel physician may be required

Biometrics Appointment

After submission, you’ll receive instructions for biometrics (fingerprints & photo). Attend the appointment at your nearest Visa Application Centre (VAC).

Wait for Decision & Receive Visa

Processing times may vary by country. Once approved, you’ll receive a Super Visa allowing you to stay in Canada for up to 5 years at a time without the need to renew your status.
